review 1: This is one of my favorite P&P variations, and I've read quite a few! The idea of an arranged marriage between Darcy & Lizzy is not new, but the execution is wonderful. I do think it took Lizzy a bit long to appreciate Darcy, but on the other hand, he was not always very helpful in that department. I liked the fact that this book is written in first person (Elizabeth's point of view), it really shows the development Lizzy made from a girl with no other choice than to marry a man she didn't like to a woman who loves her husband.
review 2: This story started off really strong, and continued on that way through the first 2/3 of the book. Then the pacing changed and it was tied up rather hurriedly, which I was disappointed in. Also, not a bodice-ripper (I have a fo
... morendness for those) but good nonetheless. If the secondary storyline had been developed, and if there had been some more romance between E&D, it would have gotten a 4.5 from me. I was very pleased with Jan Hahn's quality of writing and I hope she'll write more. less

A different slant on what might have happened in P&P if Mr. Bennet had died.
