review 1: Five students: the jock, the jerk, the princess, the scholar, and the autistic little brother set the cast for this fast-paced story. Brought together a la "The Breakfast Club" in detention, an "electrical storm" strikes during their punishment causing strange and mysterious side effects, from the ability to read minds to unparalleled strength. They must work together to figure out what is happening to them and why. Raymond keeps the reader guessing and I found myself unable to stop reading. Most interesting to me was how the author portrayed typical teenage struggles in the mist of the mystical circumstances they were placed. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a well-crafted plot!
review 2: This is a wonderfully written fantasy. I liked the way Jan Ra
... moreymond has explored the personalities of the characters, their problems and their differences. Circle of Five promises to be the start of a great trilogy. You are introduced to the five youngsters who acquire powers that they can’t control. They initially find it difficult to work together, but when a threat arises they learn to work as a team and face it together. A coming of age story that will appeal to the young and old. less
