review 1: I kinda enjoyed the first book of the Demon Trapper series by the same author and I've always love the sleeping beauty tale, so I thought this should at least be an interesting read. But no. I was bored out of my mind by the storytelling, annoying dialogues, bland side characters and an irritating heroine. And I really don't like the adults in the main characters' lives for being so unnecessarily secretive. This whole book is just...blah. And here I was so looking forward to read it.
review 2: I won this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. It is not my usual genre so I was excited to read something a little bit different. This is a modern take on the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. I thought it was well thought out and well written, and I enjoyed it a... more lot. There are parts that perhaps drag a little, where the action is a bit scarce, but overall I would recommend this book to young adults and fairy tale lovers. less
