review 1: A quick, fun read about the fear of getting a bit older without accomplishing what you'd have liked to. The main character, Emma, is instantly likable, and as she stumbles though the remaining six months before her 30th birthday, the list she is so desperately trying to complete is almost a side product to the main story - Emma finding out what she wants in life, love, and learning that sometimes those childhood dreams may not actually be what you want later in life, as you may have it pretty much figured out already. This book was instantly relatable, and really enjoyable. Jane Costello has a real knack for writing perfectly for the 20 to 30 somethings, and zeroing straight in on the things that make us tick. A great read!
review 2: This is one book that I'll ... morepromise myself to read again before I hit the big 3-o in a couple of years. It's my first Jane Costello novel and I enjoyed it immensely. The dialogue is very realistic and the story is divided into bite-sized chapters. I found the first half of the book a little long-winded. A lot of focus was placed on how Emma was on the fence about accepting Rob back into her life. The story only picked up pace during the second half and that's when it was unputdownable.. I like the unexpected plot between Emma and Matt. Each character in this story is uniquely distinctive and memorable. Though there are times when I'm embarrassed for Emma, she's such an endearing person you can't help but love her. I've got to start penning down my own wish list now.... less
