review 1: For me it was just okay. It wasn't bad but I didn't really like it either. It is a LONG book, over 400 pages, and nothing really happened for it to need to be so long. The heroine has issues with fat people, even though she stated she was slightly overweight. There are also some seriously negative emotions toward sexual orientation. Both of these things were big issues for me that I had a hard time moving past; I don't know if they were supposed to be part of the entertainment and I just don't find them entertaining or why they were repeatedly brought up. Oh and there's a lot of, what I consider to be bordering on, slut shaming - which I can't stand. Have sex, it doesn't make you a slut!I also thought the heroine was a total pushover, she automatically forgave our hero (wh... moreo I did actually like, despite all the lying), repeatedly over the mismatched dates; and then when the big lies came up she was mad for days and then forgave him with his big gesture. It was just the clumpy icing on a dry cake for me.
review 2: This book is so sweet and so romantic. You meet Alison who can only be described as never having a good date/boyfriend. She realizes she a lonely, 31 year old who is one cat away from being the crazy single old lady down the road. Her friends sends her to a popular and sucessful matchmaker only to find out it has been takin over by a man. Just desperate enough, she decides to hire him.Brandon is down on his luck and needs money. Lucky for him he just inherited his grandmothers matchmaking business. It's the best con: how hard is it to pick one guy and one girl and send them on a date. He soon realizes it's very very hard when it comes to Alison. The more time he spends with her the more realizes he doesn't want her to be with anyone except with him. But of course, he's being lying this entire time with plans of leaving just as soon as he has gathered his money and no way is Alison going to forgive Brandon. But a man can try :)This story was just too cute. It was funny and light-hearted and you can't help but fall in love with Brandon and Alison. Actually, you easily fall in love with ALL the characters in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good, fun, light romance. less
