review 1: Get What You Need is a short, quick read full of sexual tension and chemistry. There is more than just sex simmering in the background, though, because Patrick and Jay just click from the first moment on and genuinely like each other - despite their very short time together. Both characters are interesting; Jay is an ex-con who has learned his lesson and is actually more sure of himself and grown-up than most people ever get to be. Patrick is a cop, playing roles in his professional life and outside and loving it usually, but loving it even more that he can just make himself fall and be himself when Jay is around. There is no misunderstanding, no angst, no lies, no deceit. Just straight-forward, incredibly intense attraction and two men who connect on every level imaginabl... moree. ... The only thing I didn't like about this story was that there isn't a sequel ;D
review 2: I really liked Janey's writing. Both her characters were very male but not over the top or with a need to be obvious about it. And one of them was a cop and he was one of those tightly contained guys who need and outlet to let loose. Or in this case be himself and just let his guard down. Which he is able to do and it was so beautiful and sexy the way the two of them came together. Plus it was short so it was a nice intro to her stuff so my I am really excited to read TLC 101 less
