review 1: This is a very charming romance novel, a continuation of the whole “Bella” series. I feel that Janice really reached deep to create her main character, Scarlet. How do I come to that conclusion? Simply because the girl had some much angst, that I couldn’t stand her most of the time. I just wanted to reach out and give her a fatherly smack on the britches for being such an obnoxious scaredy–cat. She drove me nuts! Still…it was a very interesting read and a lot of fun when things started coming together. By the way, crash diets are meaningless and dangerous things to attempt. I am glad the author pointed that out through her story telling.Keep up the good work, Janice. I can’t wait until you come out with another in this series.
review 2: Another ador... moreable contemporary romance chick-lit by Janice Thompson in the Weddings by Design series. I love this series, and love how easy it is to get attached to these characters!The character of Scarlett is so relatable with how she struggles with her body image, stress levels, and the expectations others have of her. At the same time, though, the book's tone never gets too dramatic, and you're always rooting for each character. Thompson's descriptions are so wonderful you will smell the cake without baking anything! Loved it. less
