review 1: I found out about this series on one of my favorite book blogs and I figured I would check it out. I'm an absolute sucker for retellings and Beauty and the Beast is by far my favorite fairytale. Score. This series was awesome! I couldn't put it down. One of those prop-your-nook-up-while-your-making-dinner books. Such a great romance between Hauk and Jolie. I loved both of the characters and never got annoyed by their inner monologue and decisions (which usually happens in books I read... naive virgin heroines, unrealistically domineering heros yada yada). Also, obviously the hero isn't this physically perfect speciman that we see in every love story. It was refreshing and made things so much less shallow. I'll admit that the world might have needed a little help, t... morehe plot beyond the romance was sort of simplistic, but I think that is only because I felt like the love story outshined every other aspect of the book. Overall, I enjoyed it and I recommend it to someone who wants a cute simple and modern fairytale.
review 2: I would have preferred this trilogy to just have been one book. There was a small amount of recap in this one and scenes from the first two were referenced that I couldn't quite remember since it has been a few months since I read them. But now that all three are out I highly recommend reading the series. There could very well be a few more books planned in the world since a few threads were left hanging. less
