review 1: Great story and I loved the evolving relationship between Hauk & Jolie. I loved the other characters thrown into the story- Jolie's niece and Travis had me laughing. I also loved that the author has encouraged me to do some research about some parts of the book. And the story of Hauk's scars....Garren made it so very sad and touching at the same time. To see such a tough guy hurting and then respond to the hope that Jolie brings into his life...wow. Just read it for yourself. It's so worth it!
review 2: I really enjoyed this book. It was a really great mix of fantasy, steampunk and modern day. I also liked reading the characters; both were strong, independent and intelligent. My only concern was the rather explicit sex scene in the beginning of the book, but... more I also felt it really jump started the main characters relationship. All in all, this book was a fast paced adventure and I was more than ready to read the next one. less
