review 1: The whole Bear fetish, not my thing. Even the kidnap parts were like, good at some points and very stupid at others... like things that kept taking me away from the fantasy of it... I can't say what those things were, because I want to keep this PG rated. But then it basically turns to shit halfway through because they just all start to love each other too damn easily... just... no... i didn't like it. But sure I guess if you have a rape fetish - a bear rape fetish to be exact - you might want to pick it up but otherwise, I don't know, not missing much.
review 2: This is a powerful novel with an eerie setting (fog is prevalent here)and lots of tension…You never know what is going to happen next, there is plenty of psychological creepiness going on as well. Wi... moreth a strong dose of high-emotion, Fogs pulls you in and keeps you there in the story. Fog also becomes quite graphic in its depiction of violence and sex, essential to the story and this should not be a problem for the average adult reader. However, that said, this also is a really great captor/captive romance. And tension continues to build throughout Fog, making for a fast-paced, edge-of-your seat reading experience. There is the dreary reality of abusive relationships and the lengths people will go to feel loved, there is hope and fundamentally this story has a better ending than you may imagine. Characters are believable and have to face the darkest parts of themselves to find redemption. The book fulfilled its promise to me and left me with a great story. The prose is superb. I enjoyed the ride and I would gladly purchase it again. And I will definitely be reading more of Jeff Mann’s books. If you like your m/m with a side of intrigue and tension, this book will certainly satisfy. My rating: 5 stars. less
