review 1: This book was pretty good, for the most part. I liked the story and the characters. A little predictable at times, but it didn't take away from it's overall enjoyableness. However there were some parts that were completely and unnecessarily over explained. Like how they signed the professor up for gmail and configured a pop client or the very long paragraph about how to use iphoto to send hi-res photos. It was tedious and didn't help move the story along in anyway. I probably would have given an extra star if not for that.

Can she solve the crime and heal her body and her life?I love the premise of a mentally ill detective, but felt that writer Jeff Miller captured the surface issues, rather than the emotional issues of Dabny's illness. THE BUBBLEGUM THIEF was long and drawn out. At times excess description seemed to slow down the pace. I think I'd have liked the story more if it focused more on Dabny as a character and her arc or if it focused more on a fast paced mystery, but because this long novel did neither particularly well, I have a hard time recommending it. I had to force myself to finish the story, less
