review 1: Having been disappointed by The Skin Collector, Jeffrey Deaver's last novel, I've really enjoyed this collection of short stories. The writing is necessarily much tighter than the novel and the plot more focussed. The Lincoln Rhyme story is much more like his earlier novels - the misdirection is less signposted and there's no unnecessary subplot. Well worth the read, and it's nice to be able to dip in and out of the stories.
review 2: Normally I do not read short story collections, but I will read anything written by Jeffrey Deaver. I was also great that three of the stories are about some of his recurring characters - Lincoln Rhyme, Kathryn Dance, and John Pellam.
