review 1: Triple Threat is a collection of three short stories by popular American author, Jeffrey Deaver, available on Kindle. Fast is a Katherine Dance story in which Dance shows, in a deadline situation, that she has more strings to her bow than kinesic analysis; Game is a story about a predatory pair who try to fleece an old woman out of her riches, not counting on her smarts, her loyal employees and a tenacious PI named Eddie Caruso; Paradice is a, Location Scout short story in which John Pellam finds that brake failure on a dangerous mountain road leads to murder, assault, kidnap and a trap; this little closed-room mystery has obviously been written some time ago, as the dated references to various technologies reveal. review 2: I used to read Alfred Hitchcock and Ellery Queen magazines: collections of short mystery me suspense stories. Jeffrey Deaver's stories are like the very best of those: fun, well written and with a satisfying twist at the end. Deaver writes efficiently and beautifully, establishing characters and scenes vividly in a few lines. I loved every one of the stories in Twisted and in this, smaller collection. less
