review 1: Super cool to read a book with my little hometown as the backdrop. Nice to recognize names and buildings and places, makes me miss Toccoa so much.The story seemed a little pretentious to me. I never thought of Toccoa in the way it was presented, but then again I wasn't around in it's heyday. Things may have evolved as they always do.Glad I read it, would totally recommend it to all my Toccoa friends and family.
review 2: I read this book for book club and this is not really my favorite genre. I was really surprised that this book was written by a man. The main story takes place during WWII. Lily marries a young man, who is sent overseas after 2 weeks of marriage. The war has ended and while her husband is making his way back home, she falls in love with a ma... moren who makes fireworks. The story was okay, but it just didn't grab me. less
