review 1: A kindle freebie, this was a surprise. Pretty easy read, something fun to entertain on a snow day. Amy is a young woman struggling with her job and in a rut when she meets, Will, a college student on summer break who returns one of her college text books to her and starts her on an investigation into her family's past. In the process she learns a lot about herself, but it's not done in a cliche plot. While I would have liked to learn a little more about some of the characters, I enjoyed the plot and light romance element. There are several typos (as is typical with kindle freebies) but not too awful. Would definitely consider other books by this author.
review 2: When 23 year old Amy & her sister receive a letter informing them of an inheritance left to them b
... morey their recently deceased maternal grandmother, they are shocked because this woman is not who they thought was their grandmother. Instead, she is the sister of the woman who they have always known as their grandmother. Amy decides to investigate her family history but it is proven difficult because neither her mother nor her supposed grandmother will tell her anything. At the same time, Will is graduating from UCLA and has come into possession of a book with personal writings in the margins. He decides to find out whose book it is and return it to her. He discovers it belongs to a woman named Amy and their worlds come together as he helps and encourages her in her quest to know more about her grandmother. The story is told in an engaging and interesting way leading the reader on expectantly from page to page. You can't help but like Amy & Will and hope for more for them. However, Amy has a serious boyfriend and Will is not about to come between them. The story is mostly about Amy's real grandmother and her life but also about Amy discovering who she is and what she wants out of life. It is in one way, not really a love sorry, but in other ways it is all about a love story. less

Oh, I just thought this was awful. Wish I had the hour back that spent reading it.

The story line was great but I didn't feel connected to the characters.
