Library Lover's Mystery
review 1: I have really liked the series so far, but this one felt weaker. The love triangle thing is getting old. Whether it's her ex or now a famous actor, Lindsey is starting to get annoying in her romantic melodrama. And I was intrigued by the mystery itself, but the answer felt too abrupt, and Lindsey figures it out just because she read something about it sometime. A lack of good clues and too much time on dithering made me impatient with this one.
review 2: Book No. 4 in the “Library Lover’s Mystery” series has Lindsay Norris, town librarian, participating in the community theater’s production of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night ‘s Dream.” Everyone in town is trying out for a part, including the Lemon (aka Ms. Cole, Lindsay’s sour, disapproving e
... moremployee). Lindsay is content with her backstage role in the costume department.A handsome, famous actor, Robby Vine, is brought in to play one of the lead roles. Coincidentally he has a connection to assorted Briar Creek residents, and he may have the hots for Lindsay as well. The complicated relationship between Lindsay and the handsome boat captain, Sully, is still stuck in neutral. At the end of book three, Sully dumps her and they spend most of this book dancing around their attraction to each other. The ending was a surprise to me – but then I don’t read mysteries to figure out whodunit; I read more for the relationships between the characters and I like to be carried along in the story and find out when the characters find out. As always, this series veers a little too close to “romance wearing mystery clothing” for me, but even with that, I have grown attached to the characters and I want to know what happens next. I’m a huge fan of Jenn McKinlay’s anyway, and this series just makes me like her work all the more. less

A love triangle begins. Will it end? I was really liking the non-love triangle cozy...
