review 1: This is a typical cosy mystery - attractive young woman comes to small town as the result of a family bequest, mystery develops, yadda, yadda. It's the details that make them different and I enjoyed the weirdness of the house, although I'd have liked to have met the cats more often. Perhaps they'll turn up in later ones. I've had some broken old china and wondered what to do with it so I think I'll try a mosaic tabletop. I will look into an additional source of information, though. It was fun.
review 2: I picked up this book by liking the cover, but unsure I will enjoy to read about construction and home renovation. But this cozy, got me hooked up, the first pages I read. It is a story about Avery Baker, that finds herself inheriting her aunt's crumbling anf c... moreluttered home. She hires a handyman, Derek, to help her and soon later, finds herself in the middle of a murder-disappearance mustery, that is also putting her life in danger. The story was very interesting, since the author did not emphasis her story on uneccessary détails about renovation or consruction, but on the characters and the suspense. The story has a very unexpected twist with the past, and a direct link to the identity of the murderer. I was shocked by the identity and the reasons of the murderer . I did buy some more books of the series that I am very eager to read. less
