review 1: A very thought-provoking book talking about the human side of abortion and the individual stories of women who underwent them. Abortion is not described as a black and white issue in the political sense, but rather a choice that women need to make in their individual lives-- a choice that they should be allowed to have, just as they should have the choice to raise a child in a healthy environment. The one thing that I think could have made the book better would be to add more personal stories-- they were moving and powerful, but fewer in number than I was expecting.
review 2: I've heard that this book is a "must-read". 05/25/09I started to read this wonderful book. Wonderful beacuse now I have a different perspective of seeing abortion. What is it? and how to
... more see it? The author found out about abortion at an early age. I did not know about abortion until I was 17. "...abortion is the result, not the cause, of social problems" says Jennifer. It was scary to know that Jennifer had an unexpected pregnancy, and this made her to be even more interested in the abortion issue. I'm glad she decided to keep her child's life. "Is abortion wrong?" That's one of the question I want to be answered. I believe that most women who had had an abortion don't feel like saying it because they are afraid of being labeled as "monsters."Loretta Ross says, "and we have the power to not give life."08/29/09I have given this book too much time to be analized... There are lots of info in here that yet I need to digest because I feel it's useful and interesting to know about this specific topic/issue (abortion). The women's stories are VERY impacting to me. Controvertial topic(?) maybe(?)09/02/09It's sad to know that some women had an abortion because they wouldn't have been able to raise their child or simply because they didn't want the child to live in misery. Most of them lost their virginity between ages of 15-17. What sorprises me is that (as far as I remember) none of them said that they felt guilty or regreted to have had an abortion. Yet there are some women who do feel guilty sometimes...Most of them had illegal abortion. Some did not even want to talk about it because they thought they were going to be judged by their own families but once they talked, they found out that her grandmothers and mother have had an abortion (in some cases more than two abortions).so, "Is abortion wrong?" well I guess that is not when you have a good, good reason to do it plus it's your body and the way you see things....... less

Is "light" abortion reading possible? A must-read for all women.
