review 1: What a romantic read! I liked how it had a "true love" theme versus the story being based on attraction alone. It's true that best friends can make the best long term mates, and I loved that Lee finally decided he was ready to stop playing around and get serious about relationships. Truly satisfying relationships are where people connect on many levels, and this story showed that well. It also showed that a person's dream mate may be something other than what was originally thought, as Cee Cee was nothing like the women Lee thought he loved to date, but she was perfect for him.Other than a few minor cuss words, the story was pretty clean and I found it inspiring even though it wasn't an inspirational story. I normally don't like short stories or novellas very much as it is... more hard to feel connected to characters that you barely get to know and then the story ends. But this author did a great job pulling me in, making me care, and satisfying me at the end.
review 2: Valentine Surprise was certainly a pleasant surprise. I really liked this book a lot for a short story. It was cute, sweet, and so much fun. The writing was excellent. I just wish there had been more to the book. I was hooked and then it was over. Despite that, I'll definitely hang on to this one for re-reads in the future, and I absolutely recommend it to those looking for a fast and swoon-inducing read. less

I felt the book was okay. It felt rushed only took less than an hour to read.
