review 1: Hamburg, Jennifer. (2013). A Moose That Says Moo. New York: Farrar Straus Giroux Books for Young Readers2014 Children's ChoiceChoice BookThis book is about a little girl who imagines what it would be like if she had her own zoo. She imagines that all the animals would do crazy things that are unlike what they typically would do. The illustrations in this book are fun and detailed. They seem to be hand drawn and then painted in. This would be a good book to use to help teach younger students rhyming in the classroom. Each line in the book ends with different rhyming words.
review 2: A child imagines her own crazy zoo beginning with a "moose that said moo" and "sharks that would read book after book." When things start to go wrong, the animals become increasingl
... morey frantic and upset. (I especially love the cheetah that picks up the phone to say help!) The child knows that "everything needed to change" and she fixes "all the other things silly and strange." A fun book about what could happen when an imagination runs wild. I like that the child (probably a girl?) not only solves her problem but ends the story by musing about a juggling hen. less

Perfectly silly with great rhyme, great to pair with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

A very imaginative tale that turns chaotic. Cute and entertaining. Loved this one!
Eliana
A more chaotic (and less fanciful) version of "If I Ran the Zoo."
