review 1: This will be another book that I would implement into my future classroom under the students' independent reading time. This graphic novel takes the readers on adventure about a amoeba named Squish as he lives the life of a middle school student. As the students read, I would encourage the students to try to find connections and inferences about the text. In the book, Squish goes through many challenges such as school bullies, detention, etc. I would ask my students to deepen the text and see if they can relate to Squish's experiences in any way or if his experiences reminds them of something or someone else they know.

Squish would be a great book to brows through during a science lesson that relates to the characters. The detailed pictures make this book interesting to read and would make learning about science all the more fun!Text to text: Squish reminded me of the movie Flubber. Flubber was a green glob that came to life by the creation of a professor. Although it was not an Amoeba, Flubber and Squish are similar in that they are both living and science- related.Text to self: Squish struggles with the everyday obstacles faced throughout his school day. From friendships, to bullies, to being tardy for class Squish dealt with some of the same struggles I, and many other kids, had in grade school. Text to world: Our world is filled with tons of nasty germs and this book does a great job of identifying some of those bacterias that are around us. less
