review 1: About half way through I had decided this book just wasn't for me and I was going to put it down. I thought it switched between too many characters and didn't give enough background, also didn't understand the relevance of a few characters to the story line. After looking through a few books and not being able to find one that sparked my interest I decided what the heck I will finish "Never smile at strangers". I am so glad I picked it back up! I put it down thinking I had figured out the story line and the book only to be totally thrown at the end and left saying to myself Wow, what a great book. ... moreut it draws you in as you read. It is very suspenseful - nothing seems as you think it is! You really feel the characters, especially the protagonist. Felt goosebumps and chills while reading this book! I love how the author had a few different "subplots" going on, and how everything comes together at the end. This is an awesome mystery/thriller that you will not want to put down! less
