Searching For
review 1: Searching for Someday by Jennifer ProbstIf you are looking for a great book to lose yourself in, this is the book for you. Searching for Someday is a fun and entertaining read, that makes you believe in love. This is the story about Kate, the owner of a matchmaking company, Kinnection. She starts the company with her two best friends who use their special skills to match their clients. Kate has a gift and is able to sense the romantic connection between people by touching them. When she meets Slade Montgomery a divorce lawyer who does not believe in love they have instant chemistry. Kate and Slade are perfect for each other and their romance is heart warming. One of my favourite quotes from the book:“You see, love is a funny thing. There are no guarantees, just the day-... moreto-day and the moment. You make vows, hope for the best, and do your damnedest to love the person you’re with.” Jennifer Probst is one of my favourite Authors and this book shows us why she is a bestselling romance writer. Everything about this book is fun and entertaining and makes us believe in love. 5 hearts.
review 2: I have to start by saying I utterly freaking love this series LOVE LOVE LOVE. Even with the third person narrative that normally puts me off :) While it is third person the narrative focuses so intently on the two main characters that it feels like you are there with them. The alternating focus provided a deep level of insight and understanding to the actions and interactions of not only Kate and Slade but the peripheral characters as well. While the main focus of the book is the romance, which by the way is fairytale-esque. Jennifer also weaves in an amazing back story to her characters. In this instance Kate has dealt with a speech impediment through her formative years that left her with very low self-esteem. Luckily she find some amazing friends that helped her put strategies in place to overcome the challenges she faced. Not only did these challenges add depth to the story but added to the connection I felt to the characters. Alongside the empathy I felt for Kate, I could also relate to the way she viewed herself and her place in the world. Add in this the rescue animals and Kate's beautiful often heart-breaking view of the world and I was deeply invested in everything that happened to these people.I've quickly become addicted to Jennifer's writing style, the way she effortlessly mixes sweet with sexy alongside snark, sass and fiestyness together with sheer adorableness. Strong female characters, tight bonds of friendship and soul-mates all add up to one heck of an adult fairytale ;) less
