review 1: The medical scenes, surgeries, nursing of wounded soldiers, especially those with battle fatigue, were extremely interesting. Definitely gritty and realistic, especially in the loss of so many lives and characters in the book. However, I felt a bit let down - the initial plot point seemed to never be resolved - her relationship with her brother just seemed to be a means to an end to get her to enlist. The relationship with Williard was strange. I did appreciate the look into the future to see how things ended up in their lives.
review 2: Interesting viewpoint of World War II. Worth reading - the title suggests that Raven Point has more to do with the story than it actually did - a bit lost on the reason for this. I liked it, but it was a bit too vague in its
... more sensibilities of war horrors yet wasn't in language. Clean enough for book groups to discuss the atrocities of war without being overly exposed to them. That's why the three stars. less
