review 1: Boo Hoo Bird is a good story about Bird who has a boo- boo and is sad. His friends try to cheer him up but all he does is "Boo Hoo" and in return, it makes them "Boo Hoo" too. Finally, Bird cheers up by seeing his friends 'boo-hooing'. I feel that this story would be good to show the children that even though sometimes we might get hurt, your friends can help your boo-boo get better. I would use this book for if someone gets a boo-boo in class or if one of our schoolmates has a cast from an injury. We would discuss how we feel when we get hurt and how our friends can help make us feel better.We would draw a picture of a time when we got hurt or knew someone who got hurt and discuss how we could or how our friends helped us to get better.
review 2: This is a Shi... morening Willow Award Nominee. It is a very cute circle book. I love circle stories that end where they begin. It shows the compassion of friends as they try to help their buddy who is hurt. I got a chuckle from the various things the friends try to help their friend because they are all things that we, as teachers, parents, babysitters, aunties, grandmas, etc have all done to try and make that boo boo better! less
