review 1: Pawnbroker by Jerry Hatchett was fast paced and kept me turning pages to see how Grayson, owner of a pawn shop, was going to find out why the Sheriff in town and his friends were trying to kill him. I also had to find out what happened to the people that Rocky and Ray Earl found. Then there was the twist of the illegal immigrant from Mexico looking for her boyfriend. All this going on as Brayson's wife is apparently cheating on him. When I discovered what Grayson was looking for, I wondered what is happening to life as we know it. Graphic descriptions of events and human emotion, made me sit up and keep reading.
review 2: If you like your thrillers to be taut then this is just for you. I have a penchant for story-line centered around an average Joe who get
... mores caught up in tale where he is innocent but he becomes submerged in a web of intrigue that most of us would not survive. Well Jerry Hatchett has crafted a great story here that catches the reader's attention with a dark prologue and carries them along at roller coaster pace. Highly recommended. less

This was good read. The chapters were short which worked well with my allotted reading time.
