This was a different type of Turansky book for me. I loved her Highland Hall series, and hope she’ll write more in that vein, but I enjoyed this book too. It covers an exciting time in aviation history when the first man flew over the English Channel. I hadn’t thought much about the difficulties inherent in flying over water, as opposed to land. It was fascinating watching James get ready and take his test flights. I was rooting hard for him.
Bella has her own dreams of becoming a journalist to pursue. However, her parents feel it is unseemly for a woman. Bella’s excitement for life and her desire to be in the thick of it makes her very winsome. I appreciated her willingness to fight for what (and who) she believes in.
Thank you to Multnomah and Blogging for Books for providing me with a free copy of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.
