review 1: I really enjoyed it...I am familiar with Amish ways....and this book did a great job showing how relying on one's faith, however different it is from my own, can get you through a bad time and that there really is a bright spot to be found in almost any situation, regardless how small that bright spot is. Can't wait to read the next one in the series.My only complaint is one part of the book, the horse gets into the grain and they said he was foundering.....no, he was colicking. Founder is another disease horses can get from overeating, but it causes lameness, not intestinal rupture.
review 2: This one was a little different than a lot of Amish books I've read. Ella's wedding is originally planned for June while in other books I've always read that the Amis... moreh weddings take place in November. I was also a little surprised that Ella was planning to live in a house on her own. That seems a bit unusual for single young Amish women. Overall I did really enjoy the book and look forward to reading the next book in the series less
