review 1: It was not the story but the moral behind it, I could not stand. (spoiler)Selfjustice to such a degree, with not consideration for innocent/ uninvolved is a big no-go for me. And even if she was possessed, there was no regret afterward and no real consequences. It was like her killing these people without a real reason was just a mistake and with a "sorry, my bad" it was (nearly) ok again...So if there would have been real consequences, or regret or even a real reason why everyone had to die, I would have given 3-4 stars but so it is just 1
review 2: Wow – this book did a complete 180 for me in the middle!If I had to review this book halfway through, I would’ve given in a middle of the road 3 stars. While Shia is growing on me, her decisions in this book w... moreere difficult to handle. She was so out of control of her life that it made me cringe every time she dove deeper into this new world. I also spent most of the first half of the book whining about the lack of Alec. For someone who wanted her so bad, he sure let her go really easily! It made me mad, and reluctant to push through. There was a lot more grit and killing in this book, along with a lot of horrible situations, only made worse by Shia’s newly self-destructive nature. Boy, I’m really glad I did. This book gave me some answers I was looking for as well as the biggest, best present I ever could get from this series! Thanks so much! I don’t care what Shia does to mess this up in the next book, I’m going to bask in the afterglow of this one. less
