review 1: Greg made it clear at the beginning that it's not about two kids falling in love or life-changing experience, and it definitely was not. The book itself was hilarious, but for some reason I really didn't find Greg's jokes as funny; I don't know what's wrong with me (maybe fungus is eating my brain). In teenage years, it's hard to take care of even just yourself let alone a dying friend whom you hadn't talked to in years. It was totally understandable how Greg felt from a perspective of another selfish human being. "I'm not as fat as a lot of kids, but I'm definitely fat, and I can definitely grab two different rolls of my stomach and make it talk like a Muppet."- I tried doing it, and it works! :))
review 2: Meh. This was an okay book. I laughed ALOT at first b
... moreut then boob and vomit jokes get old too. It's nice as a fun relieving way to end the day I guess, but I thought it was a touch-and-go book for me. How can I tell? I've read it before, forgotten I've read it before and went to read it again before realizing the content was the same. So yeah. The kind of book that doesn't leave an impression but it's a good book to laugh too. less
