The Final Prophecy
review 1: Jessica Andersen is awesome! I’ve talked to her for a while on twitter and facebook but never read any of her books until her Mustang Ridge Ranch series came out this summer; under the name Jesse Hayworth. Those romances are sweet, full of wit and spunk, and have so much depth. I love the characters, the setting (a beautiful horse ranch in Wyoming!) and the family that owns the ranch. But, I have to wait until February for the next one to come out and I needed more of Jess’s books. Have you ever had a favorite author like that? You love their voice so much, you have to keep reading because without it you feel empty? Just me? Oh. :PThe Nightkeepers’ Final Prophesy series is set four years before the 2012 doomsday. There are just over a dozen Nightkeepers left to defend... more the world from the end-date after the previous king mistakenly led his people into a massacre in his attempt to stop the count-down to the end.The Nightkeepers are young and don’t have the first idea about how to be a team or survive the doomsday, let alone save the world. But, they know their duty and will try or die. Literally. The love story is between Leah, a human cop who is chasing her brother’s murderer, and Striking-Jaguar, the son of his peoples’ King; who refuses to take the throne out of fear of an ancient prophesy that says the King of the magi must perform a great sacrifice. He’s already lost so much, he can’t even think about losing someone else which is why wipes Leah’s memory of him and leaves her.But when her safety is jeopardized and she is thrown into their world of magic, he can’t stay away. There must be a sacrifice. Will he lose Leah? Or will he let her die so he can keep his people alive and save the world? What choice would you make?Doc Jess’s world building is as amazing and vivid; some of the best I have ever experienced! Her characters are so alive and varied from each other. The men are kick ass, but I guarantee the women could take ‘em!What I love is that every single detail is there for a reason. You may not always think so, but once you get to the end the light bulb will turn on and you will be blown away by how everything connects! And while the Nightkeepers have magic, every spell/every ritual requires sacrifice. Nothing is just given. They must work. They must struggle.I’m not going to give away any spoilers, but I do what to tell you about some of the characters I’ve already fallen head-over-heels in love with!Like Rabbit! He is a heavily misunderstood angsty teenager who got the Nightkeeper gene from his father (I refuse to call him a half-breed because I grew up with Harry Potter and hearing anyone be described as a\anything resembling mud-blood makes me SO angry that I want to throw knifes at the person saying it). He wears his hoodie up and is constantly blaring music from his Ipod into his ears; creating the illusion that he doesn’t give a f*ck but he really does. From the first moment I met him, I just wanted to hug him. Then there is the already mated couple Patience and Brandt White-Eagle and their twin sons. I started crying when I realized Patience was going to have to fight tooth and nail to keep her sons from being used as a way to keep the world from ending at the 2012 dooms day. I can’t wait to read more about them!
review 2: I love the mythology, and the doomsday theme in this book. The setting was wonderful, dark and sensual. The characters were wonderful, each has their own issues, but they come together for a common goal. Even Leah, who is not considered to be one of the “chosen”, needs to see this through. Although there were a lot of set up for what was coming ahead, Leah and Striking, found time alone. It was sensual and there a few times I ended fanning myself.4.5/5 less

OMG, I can't. I didn't even really give this a fair chance, but it's just not my thing. No.
