review 1: Warning.....spoilers.........I would have given this book another star if the last 100 pages hadn't been thrown together with huge holes in the plot. Did they seriously think that they could throw the guy in the lake, then call the sheriff and Erica wouldn't mention that he'd been there? Why not call the sheriff when they realized he was still alive? Because this insane guy won't come back! Right. Now what happens to Erica? After all, she was helping to murder people. The money was in the truck? Really? Why? Why would the guy never say he made money with fertilizer? I grew up when people didn't discuss how much money they had, but you still knew how they made it. Didn't act like they had none. Just doesn't make sense. I hate it when I've invested so much time in a book and... more the author just throws the ending together because I guess they were a deadline or they figure they've got you hooked so the ending doesn't really matter.
review 2: A nice little piece of brain candy, a mystery/thriller, fish-out-of-water romance that delivers on all levels. With the help of a professional editor and the backing of a major publishing house, this could easily be a bestseller. As it is, Randall weaves a unique, entertaining tale with spunky, likeable characters and a satisfying finish. The first book in a long time that I stayed up way past my bed time to finish. less

Set aside - kinda slow - the story got muddled which made me not want to move on with it

This book started slow but took off. It's worth reading all the way to the end.
