review 1: Valentina has fled her home in Florida and finds herself struggling to survive in Montreal, Canada. She has found work as an artist's model, the only work she can find without a work visa. The fact that she is under age also makes it difficult. The reason for her flight was when she found out that her father was a drug kingpin and that her boyfriend is his hired thug. This book is entertaining and offers some action/suspense. Additionally, it offers the moral dilemma of someone confronting unethical/illegal activities perpetuated by a loved one.
review 2: This book had so much potential to be horrible. Cliches, horrid love stories (yes, there's a triangle), and a pampered princess running away from home. Instead of horrid, though, I got a really awesome ... moresurprise with a tale that could charm me, amazingly interesting characters, and a main setting of Montreal! You give me Canada and I'm already adding an extra star. So yes, highly recommend this one if you want something that manages to avoid a lot of pitfalls! less
