review 1: I had so much fun reading this book! Lots of twists, unreliable narrators, suspense and building up of tension. Identical twin sisters Alice and Rachel look alike, but of course are not similar in personality. When reckless, risktaking Alice goes missing, "good" sister Rachel thinks she will come home soon; she's run off with a guy she was dating before. But not everything is as it seems, and--oh gosh, I can't talk more about this book without giving things away! It was just so cool! The sisters have lived with their aunt and uncle and mentally disabled, sweet-natured cousin Charlie since the death of their mother. Their "crazy" grandmother, who lives alone on her farm, believes she has psychic ability, and Alice believes she inherited that ability--she's gotten injured fo... morer no reason when Rachel got injured, etc. That supernatural thread weaves its way through the book as well. Just a really interesting story that I couldn't put down.
review 2: Alice and Rachel are identical twins. It is impossible to tell them apart. Tragedy strikes at age ten when their parents are killed. The girls are sent to live with their mother's twin sister and her family. Tragedy strikes again at age eighteen. The girls are at a fair with their friends. While everyone is climbing onto the ferris wheel, Rachel suddenly (and unlike her) decides to pass on the ride and go for a walk instead. She never comes home that night. Or the next night. Or the next. She's gone. What follows is a search for a missing girl and constant twists and turns. less
