review 1: Picked this up from a Smart Bitches sale alert and SO glad I did. In a continued effort to expand my contemporary horizons, this book is an awesome example of everything in contemporary done right. Heroine Katie suffered a major accident and is trying to remake her life by living 'balls out' and takes a job as a temp at Wilder Adventures in the California Sierras. Hero Cameron, a former Olympic and X-Games champion snowboarder is back home after a year abroad recovering from an injury which ended his career. Very much a story driven by internal conflict, I LOVED watching these two heal and come together. So good and sweet and Good Book Noise-worthy.
review 2: I read this book because I heard an interview on Hypable's book podcast and an author chose Cam Wilder
... moreas one of her favorite characters. She said she returns again and again to read this book. I'd never heard of Jill Shalvis before so I thought I'd check it out. Katie has been through a traumatic life changing accident. She decides to move from LA and take a temp job at Wilder Adventures and Expeditions. Cam was a famous snowboarder until an accident left him with a bad leg and a feeling that he has lost everything worthwhile. Returning from his world travels, Cam discovers Katie sleeping in his cabin and romance ensues.I'll read the next in the series if the library has it, but I wasn't blown away by it. Maybe Cam grows on you as you reread. less
