Paul Sanchez: Show At Monroes

Paul Sanchez is coming to Monroe’s February 2.

The native New Orleanian is best known for Cowboy Mouth, his role in the HBO series Treme, and for the musical adaption of Nine Lives by Dan Baum.

Heart Renovations, his recent album portraits his poetic lyrics, soul-searching, and solo acoustic music performance. He has an excellent blend of music and storytelling showcasing his powerful, sad, entertaining, humorous, and hopeful sides.

When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, like many people there, Paul was tremendously impacted having lost his home, stating, “I lost my home, my possessions, community and, eventually, my job after the flood. I was changed, am changed as a person and it couldn’t help but change my music.”

In 2014, he was awarded Songwriter of the Year by Off the Beat Magazine. In 2010, he won Songwriter of The Year, Best Song of The Year, Best Folk/Rock Album for Stew Called New Orleans. He was awarded Best Roots Rock Performer at The Big Easy Awards by Gambit Weekly.
