review 1: I enjoyed the book.I actually liked this one more than Vixen which was the first book in the series. This one was a little less predictable than the last one.Although there were things you just knew were going to happen.I was A little disappointed that Lorraine didn't come to A bad end but theres another book in the series to go.I thought Gloria's character wasn't quite up to snuff in this book. She was more interesting in Vixen.I still liked the character of Clara.Granted I knew she and Marcus weren't going to last. The Mafia element in the book wasn't realistic and should've been left out. When the Mafia wants to kill someone they do it.They don't wait until everyone involved is in the room.
review 2: I'm liking the idea of this series. The writing is spot on wit
... morehout the typical cliche "flapper" talk. I appreciate the research needed to keep the language and descriptions fresh and not over used. The story line is good, and the characters are well developed with out being YA predictable. I do think Gloria is a little too optimistic, and Lorraine can't possibly be that stupid and shallow, but then again maybe she can. I think older teens can identify with the characters attempts at breaking out of a predetermined "life". I'm looking forward to seeing how Clara is able find a version of herself. less
