review 1: If you liked the first book in the Flapper series, this one is even better - more drama, more intrigue, more fabulous clothes. I'm looking forward to finishing out the series with the third book, Diva - they're all pretty quick reads.Overall, I find this series fun and frothy, but a bit juvenile - I bet if I'd read it in my teens, I would have LOVED it. Maybe they're actually supposed to be YA books? If not, they could be - very G-rated fun.
review 2: This series is very similar to Luxe series by Anna Godberson, similar plot line. I still dislike Lorraine but now I also dislike Clara. They are both stupid characters. Both of the situations could have been easily resolved if they had used common sense and told their lover what was happening ( Lorraine did so but
... more it didn't work out) and Clara didn't and Marcus found out about what she was doing and then he stopped wanting to be with her (read this book and you will understand). I consider Lorraine to be a backstabber kind of friend who should learn to not hold grudges on people and she doesn't deserve to get away with whatever she does without having to deal with any consequences. Clara tells lies or half truths and rather than tell Marcus the truth she lets him find out for himself what she has been up to. So far the only character that I did like reading about was Vera because even though she was motivated to find her brother at least she didn't go around lying or backstabbing anyone. I also never knew that in the 1920's the FBI existed (read this book and you will understand). Thanks for Reading :D less
