review 1: Not a mystery, but it is a mystery. Who is Roger Morgan, the man who engineered the 1962 Seattle World's Fair? This fair brought Seattle into the world's view and spurred economic development, building and cultural affairs. Roger Morgan and his sidekick Teddy are fictional, but you almost don't realize it while reading the work. Helen Gulanos, the reporter researching the 1962 fair in 2000 for the Seattle PI, will not waver as she seeks the truth about Roger Morgan's past, and the city's history of corruption and bribery.
review 2: I highly recommend this book for all my Seattle friends and those with Seattle familiarity. It was a very fun read and particularly interesting to learn some history about the city's world fair. It tells the tale of an organizer of
... morethe 1962 World's Fair, Rodger Morgan, alternating between 1962 and the present in which he is running for Mayor. While portrayed as an affable older gentleman in the present, he has on his tracks a reporter who is determined to get the "whole truth" about his background, motivations and mayoral aspirations. While fictional, it gives a fun sense of the environment in 1962 and an enjoyable story of the underlying complexity of people and situations that makes it difficult to capture in a newspaper article. Highly enjoyable! less
