review 1: I straight up like this book. Doyle, half human half demon, surprised me. I didn't think I was going to like this book simple because Doyle was a prick in the other books, but he changed my mind. Dude had a rough life.Andy took it in stride, but what happened to her cousin..lol..they were all chilling at her house at the end..where was he?And they are always breaking down doors! Then have sex while it's still broken..lolGreat read, think it may be my fav so far..will there be more?
review 2: Though I appreciated how Beck explores the cycle of violence with a paranormal twist, WHEN TEMPTATION BURNS didn't have particular deep characters to go along with the complex and nuanced plot. While I appreciated Andy's pluck and rational thinking, she and Doyle both were... more just a little too perfect and predictable to hook me. While I appreciate a good thriller (which WHEN TEMPTATION BURNS definitely is), the action sequences stretched my credulity and the romance didn't hook me. Plot alone is not enough, I'm not sure I'll be back for more. less
