review 1: If I don't like the writing of a book then I can't look at anything else. I didn't like the writing or the story of this book. Things just happened and the characters just felt really flat to me. It was okay in the beginning, but the last 1/3 or so the book just seemed like a different book and the book was horrible. I skipped a lot of parts towards the end because I just wanted it to end so I had to see if it got better. It didn't.
review 2: So is Mr. Bryan going to do for South Carolina what Stephen King did for Maine? Grab this for FREE from Amazon while you still can.Edit: I ended up getting the whole series. I'm just starting the last book now, and they're holding up nicely. But the author needs a better editor. Like when a character thinks the phone lin... moree is dead and presses down on the switchhook a few times (like they always do on TV), the text refers to the switchhook as the "jack". less
