review 1: 4.25 of 5What I wanted more of: I would have liked to know more about Phil (hope to know him better in the next book in the series) and I was disappointed there wasn't more of a resolution for one of the background characters. The ending was a bit abrupt as well. Is it bad that I wanted there to be more sex in the story? What was there was great, but I wouldn't have said no to more. lolWhat I really liked: good characterization, interesting setting, humor, mystery. The mystery is a bit light, but it felt well-balanced with the romance plot. I liked Tom a lot. Great character, very sympathetic and all around good guy. I thought he and Phil were a great couple.
review 2: Yep, freakin' love me some British stories.I'm kinda smitten with Merrow's writing, it's very... more... well real. The characters talk like real people in my every day life talk. I am familiar with so much more in her books, because of first hand experience, than most others I read.There's daft little things, like the word "daft", calling someone a "twat", and many more, you don't get those in most books. Even other British authors leave out things like that, being written more proper so they're more understood by a wider audience. I love that Merrow doesn't bother with that.It's everyday British and it's fabulous for it.I also loved the actual story.I liked how Tom's abilities had limitations, and how applied them to his everyday life.I was also really pleased with the fact that I didn't know the "whodunnit" until the characters themselves figured it out.Yep, freakin' loved it. less
