review 1: It was interesting to see Carmine in his youth with all his troubles after his mom's death. His relationship with Nick, his best friend and what came between them. His interactions with Dom and of course poor Vincent! Second part of the book and it was fantastic to see Carmine in his role as daddy and how little Maura had everyone including Corrado wrapped around her little finger! Still want Vincent and Maura's story!! Miss these characters immensely definitely a series that I will reread!!
review 2: I love love love this novellas (and its FREE) and its brilliant. I fell in love with Carmine and Haven in Sempre and Sempre Redemption. TFriends tells a story that happened before Sempre and there was this one character in Sempre that made me cry ..as in everytime... more I remember him my heart twist in pain and I was still wishing that the author made a different outcome for him, that was Nicholas. His appearance in Sempre book was short but made an big impact and reading Friends novella , it refreshed the heartache I had for him and his friendship with Carmine. Finally understanding the friendship between this two -- and how it was broken - again my heart ache because I can still vividly remember in my mind that part in the book that I actually cried and there were regrets . I felt that hurt when that friendship lost between Carmine and Nicholas and I remember how they mend that friendship but was cut short. On happy note the Forever novella showing what happened to Carmine and Haven after Sempre Redemption was pure joy. While I wrote this Im smiling . Carmine was still foul mouthed and I laugh a lot - specially with the kind of relationship he had with his daughter , how much he still love Haven and how much he was still scared of Corrado. There were book series that you dont want to end and this series as one of those. I can read about them and follow them religiously like comics or a soap novella and I will never get tired reading . Well done to to the author who made an amazing story and characters and sharing it with us. less
