review 1: So I’ll start this out with the fact that we are agnostic (read as Atheists wanting to err on the side of caution) which if you’ve read my reviews should surprise exactly no one. I also shy away from the belief that anyone or anything is good or evil. I think everyone/everything is a little of both. I’d most likely prefer your evil side, but that’s not the point…I got to 51% and DNF’d this book. See the problem is I just couldn’t possibly care. The argument, the desire to be one or the other, the possibility of living a life that guarantees you a Heaven or a Hell is absolutely lost on me.
review 2: First, I immediately loved the concept of this story. An high angel going to talk to the devil to make him change his mind or do what she wants him to... more do? That to me, all types of interesting. I was interested before the book was ever bought for me. I love the battle of wills in this story. The push and pull. I have read some of this author's other works, I believe that is the one thing she does the best. J.M. Darhower's storytelling was sublime. I enjoyed every minute from their bantering conversations to their card games. I also loved that the story kept me on my toes, it didn't turn out the way I thought at all. I would recommended this book to anyone who loves romance, the supernatural, or just a good story. less
