review 1: This second book in The Daughters series focuses primarily on Carina Jurgeson, the daughter of billionaire CEO Karl Jurgeson. The previous book ends with Carina sending some information that suggests her father was scamming money from a charity fundraiser he did. At the beginning of the book Carina has a lot of issues with her father, but by the end of the book she's come to view him and herself very differently.These are young adult fiction books that are a fun, quick read. They are the kind of coming-of-age novels that are current and relevant to the times, but still innocent. I love how the main character takes a difficult situation and rather than complain about it, figures out how to make things work for her. In the end, she really makes some big changes in how she vi... moreews money and herself. A great read for a tween or young teen. This is the 2nd book of the series. Look forward to reading the 3rd.
review 2: This second book in The Daughters series focuses primarily on Carina Jurgeson, the daughter of billionaire CEO Karl Jurgeson. The previous book ends with Carina sending some information that suggests her father was scamming money from a charity fundraiser he did. She was wrong, and her father was ready to ship her off from her cozy home in New York City, to a Californian boarding school. Luckily her friends quickly come to the rescue and let her mother, who lives in Hawaii, know about this. It violates their contract of custody so she's whisked back to New York. Her father, better known as The Jurg, decides to cut her off after a statement she made. Carina gets a new perspective on life, meeting new people who care more about her, than her status and money. I much preferred this book to the first one, I liked Carina's character better than Lizzie's. Lizzie was a bit whiny whereas Carina is wild and out there. I would definitely read this book again. less
