J. Philibin)Wie kam ich zu diesem Buch?:Wie wollte e... moreinfach mal das "neue" Genre Young Adult ausprobieren un dabei blieb ich irgendwie bei Strawberry Summer hängen geblieben. Und ich muss sagen ich wurde nicht enttäuscht.Meine Meinung:Joanna Philibin hat mit Strawberry Summer ein schön leites Sommerbuch geschrieben. Es thematisiert nicht nur die Liebe, sondern zeigt auch auf angenehme seichte Weise, wie Freundschaft die Grenzen zwischen "Normalbürger" und "Highclass". Ich kann Rorys und Isabels Beweggründe gut nachvollziehen. Der Schreibstil ist genauso flüssigleicht wie das Thema des Buches. Es ist perfekt für den Strand.Fazit:Ich habe leichtes Sommerbuch erwartet und habe es auch bekommen. Ich freue mich auf die Fortsetzung.
review 2: Rules of Summer was a great easy read book. It's about the endless possibilities of summer...the romances, boys, friendships and fights. Rory is a normal girl from New Jersey who takes a job working as an errand girl for the Rules for the summer in the Hamptons. Isabel is back on the East Coast after spending the school year in California. She is always the odd one out with her family, and lately she finds her friends to be shallow. At first, these two girls don't get along at all, until Isabel needs Rory's help to hide who she is dating from her family, and Rory is given the job of teaching Isabel to drive. Their friendship blossoms with Isabel finally realizing that Rory is a good friend that actually cares about her. The book ends with Rory being invited back for next summer. The book had a lot of details in it, so it was very easy to picture the story. Plus, it was all set in areas close to where I live, so that was an added bonus. Overall it was a good book, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. less
