review 1: I so wanted to love this trilogy as much as I loved the This Man trilogy, but it simply did not happen for me. I speed read most of this book - never a good sign. There were a few amazing sections in the book and then naturally a brilliant twist / cliffhanger at the end. I will have to read book three now (!), but I know that I will not be reading this trilogy twice (as I have with other favourites!).
review 2: While I still prefer Jesse Ward and his distaste for female cussing, Miller Hart is growing on me a little more than in the first book. The negatives first. Livy's interest in bending to his every whim will ultimately become a flaw in their relationship (if I'm speaking in real world logic). Miller's continues need to talk to Livy as though she's a child... more is a bit demeaning and does get old. However, as a positive, I like how JEM was able to expand the story (where as some authors tend to stop character development or introducing new characters all together). William's involvement and history with Livy and Miller is interesting and Gregory's knowledge of Miller was interesting, too. Bottom line- Miller's not my preferred leading male but he's growing on me. less
