review 1: Great establishment of characters. Offers interesting cause and effect, sequence of events, but disappointed with abrupt ending. It's hard to believe the speed & ease of information Michael obtains in a short time, with no previous detective or burglary experience. However, as the mother of an adopted son, I also found it hard to believe the Duncan's wouldn't look into lawyer/firm prior to giving up their life savings. It's a quick, one sitting, predictable page turner (free download.)
review 2: A praise-worthy plot. Fast paced, slightly predictable, but a page turner because the story is so realistic. Two couples become victims when a team of kidnappers steals a newborn from one and offers what seems to be a legal adoption to the other. The author concentrate
... mores more on plot than character development, keeping the reader from mentally putting an identity to most characters. However, this creates a feeling that anyone could be sucked into a scam like this and themselves be on either team of victims. less
