review 1: If you are a fan of John Locke's books you will love Casting Call - - How the author comes up with these characters is beyond understanding - - everything always works out well though because the author uses characters from his other books; introducing them at key points in the story for maximum effect. His writing style is always fun to read - no flowery writing from Mr. Locke! The reading is fast paced with his use of short, crisp, direct sentences - that style makes for good story-telling and fast page-turning. The story is unbelievable and totally insane - but it's also fun (I know a strange combination). This is a story you will not find with any other author - it's totally John Locke.
review 2: Casting Call is a breath of fresh air after the mildly dis
... moreappointing, too-sex-soaked Dani Ripper novel, Teacher, Teacher. While Locke's novels always have some prurient content, this release is more focused on lies, deceptions, twists and misleads... the core of what I've always felt makes Locke's novels fun, when he's at the top of his game.Although there's no formal series this novel's a part of, it does contain an important cameo by Callie Carpenter and could potentially form the basis of a spin-off series for her. The book kept me guessing, read fast, and good fun. Well done. less
