review 1: Pretty enjoyable read overall. It was a nice turn that Cherry didn't start off as someone who was dissatisfied with her life. She has a good relationship with her dad and her brother and she isn't overly envious of classmates who have more than she does. She understands her dad works hard to provide for them and she seems to respect that. She holds down a fast food job and she's proud of the work she does. With high school graduation approaching, her dad wants more for her than she does. Cherry is enough of her own person and confident in what she wants that it's believable she wouldn't be starstruck when a movie starts filming in her town. There are a lot of pop culture references, so maybe this won't hold up so well in the long run. But for right now it w... moreorks.
review 2: 17 year-old Cherry Kerrigan is an expert burrito roller for the Burrito Barn, lives with her stoned brother and mechanic father in the local trailer park, is in an interracial relationship, and has a lot of attitude along with a potty mouth. The star of a movie being filmed locally begins to choke while eating at the Barn and Cherry comes to her rescue setting off a set of circumstances that are eventually out of her control. The liberal use of the "f" word turned me off although Cherry is a strong female protagonist. less
